Good to know

The house rules, plainly.

Arriving and leaving

  • Check in after 3:00 pm. Self check-in; the door code comes in your booking email.
  • Check out by 11:00 am.
  • Free parking on site — gravel by the house and in front of the garage.
  • Google Maps brings you to the gate. Look for the double lamppost with a metal elk on it.
  • You need a car. There is no rideshare and no transit here.

While you're here

  • Quiet hours start at 10:00 pm. Sound carries a long way in the forest.
  • No smoking anywhere on the property, including vapes. The fire risk here is high.
  • Pets are welcome for $200 per stay. Keep them off the carpet and the beds, and leashed or close outdoors.
  • Check current Coconino National Forest fire restrictions before any outdoor fire. No fireworks, ever.
  • Events and parties need approval in advance. Start here if that is what you are planning.

Add-ons

Things we set up before you arrive.

Groceries on arrival

On request

Send us a short list two days ahead and we will have it waiting. Coffee, milk, eggs, bread, wine, or whatever you need. We add the cost of the groceries at receipt.

Tables and chairs

On request

Extra tables and chairs for a large group, a long dinner, or an event on the deck or the field. Tell us the headcount and where you want them set up.

Portable heaters

On request

Outdoor heaters for the deck. Nights are cold here in every season, and they are what keeps people outside after dinner instead of moving indoors.

Outdoor lighting

On request

String lighting for the deck or the field. Useful for a dinner, a ceremony, or an evening that runs past sunset.

Paddleboards

On request

Paddleboards on request, for a day on Blue Ridge Reservoir. It is about 15 minutes away. Tell us in advance and we will have them ready.

Mid-stay refresh

On request

A reset for longer stays. Fresh linens, fresh towels, and a clean bathroom and kitchen. We schedule it for a window you choose.

Questions

Before you book.

How do I book Spoonbill Lodge?

Choose your dates in the calendar on this page. The booking completes on book.spoonbilllodge.com. If you have questions first, or you are planning an event, email us before you book.

What is the cancellation policy?

Moderate. Cancel more than 30 days before arrival and you get everything back. Cancel between 30 and 14 days out and you get half back. Inside 14 days the booking is not refundable, because a whole-house week that late rarely rebooks.

Is there a minimum stay, and a minimum age to book?

Two nights minimum, and the person booking must be at least 24. They need to be one of the guests staying, not booking on behalf of a group they are not part of.

Are pets allowed?

Yes, $200 per stay. Keep pets off the carpet and off the beds. The property is not fenced. It opens onto working forest with real wildlife in it, so think hard before you let a dog off the leash here. There is a screened dog run on the side of the lodge, with water and cleaning gear in it.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check in after 3:00 pm. Check out is typically 11:00 am. Check-in is self-service, and your booking email has the door code.

Are events or parties allowed?

Approved events are welcome. We host weddings, retreats, reunions, and hunting parties. Unapproved parties are not allowed. Start on the Groups and Events page and tell us what you are planning.

Is smoking allowed?

No, nowhere on the property. This includes vapes. The fire risk here is high. Check the current Coconino County fire restrictions before any outdoor fire, and never leave a fire unattended.
